Yahoo Design Expo
Learning Design for Real People, Real Spaces
Providing computing solution to user in form that is more desirable to them and relevant in their context was taken up as a challenge and final form derived. Final form of the project is a personal gadget that that can be carried as an item of jewellery or personal accessory, with ability to be plugged to mobile phone.
This project was done as part of competition organised by Yahoo. I worked with 2 of my batch mates Suri Manekar and Girija Athavale. I contributed to user research, analysis, and ideation.
User Research and Analysis
The turning point of the project was the spiral mind map which depicts the life of the user starting from morning to night, which diverted our thought process to looking at the entire day of the user rather than the time he/she spends at platform/train.
Final Form
Mannat helps its users in social interaction by means of information exchange. The project dealt with information needs of common man in a more accessible manner rather than computer. The design intent was to provide a solution that help achieve a better mental state of mind by providing local information in context of the user. The project was envisaged as a part of Yahoo University Design Expo 2007.
